CFL Game Day: Hamilton at British Columbia (July 6, 2012)

It's back to the workday grind for Geroy Simon, the week of celebration over his latest accomplishment in the CFL giving way to the task at hand, that of propelling the BC Lions towards November and a trip to Toronto for the Grey Cup.

Of course along the way to that goal, Simon will probably add a few more yards to his record, maybe snare another or at least work within striking distance of it and as Lions fans could testify to, provide some entertaining football along the way.

The Lions seek to continue along their winning ways on Friday as the Hamilton Tiger Cats arrive at BC Place Stadium to try and remove the disappointment of their home opener last week.

The Cats feature one of the most renovated offensive units in the league this year, some blue chip players inserted but yet to mesh it seems if week one is any indication at any rate.

Henry Burris has no shortage of offensive options whether by air or on the run and with more than a few critics suggesting that the Stamps were correct in moving to the future with Drew Tate, the Ticat QB has more than a few things to say we imagine about all of that.

His latest opportunity to quiet down the nay sayers however finds him facing a pretty stern defensive unit in BC that will no doubt wish to show the home fans that the Cats reputation thus far is all on paper and not through any success on the field.

One thing to keep a watch for in this one will be how the Cats head coach George Cortez fares with some of the CFL's rules, many suggest that his missed opportunity to challenge an officials ruling last week was the turning point in the Cats home opening loss.

We imagine he reviewed that play and many others and has rededicated his attention to when and when not to throw the challenge flag.
